ESCTAIC dates back to 1989 when a small group of technology and computing enthusiats decided to organise a forum between clinical anaethesiology and technical disciplines, electronics, engineering and ergonomics.

This initiative proved to be very productive. Since then more than a 15 succesful meetings have been performed and the community of technologically interested anaesthesiologists and intensivists as well as medical oriented technicians and engineers is steadily growing.
